Did Build-A-Bear teach the rest of America and western European countries how to deal with their issues when it comes to illegal immigrants and migration? There are some who say the answer to this question is yes. Among those who would say yes is President Trump himself. The popular store chain known as Build-A-Bear recently tried to run a campaign that was meant to bring smiles to the faces of young children while hopefully creating good business for the Build-A-Bear store chain across the nation. By now a large number of Americans know how well this campaign worked out. It quickly became clear that whoever came up with the “Pay Your Age” promotion had not thought this decision all the way through. While the promotion would allow a three year old to build a bear for three dollars and a five year old to build one for five dollars what was not taken into consideration was the chaos that this promotion would cause across America.
Tens of thousands of families packed themselves into malls all across the United States which caused nation wide hysteria across the nation as Build-A-Bear received a much bigger response to their promotion than they were expecting. According to the company itself the larger than expected response caused significantly longer lines to form at Build-A-Bear locations than their company employees and mall security were able to contend with. If someone had to describe the scene at malls across America once this promotion got started using just one word, that word would be, chaos.
It quickly became obvious to Build-A-Bear that there was only one way to deal with the chaos that they had inadvertently caused across the nation. As much as it disappointed their guests they had to cancel the promotion. On their Facebook page Build-A-Bear posted “per local authorities, we cannot accept additional Guests at our locations due to crowds and safety concerns. We have closed lines in our U.S. and Canada stores. We understand some guests are disappointed and we will reach out directly as soon as possible.”
The chaos that was caused by the Build-A-Bear “Pay Your Age” promotion very closely resembles the chaos that has been caused by the migrant situation that faces both America and western European countries. The similarities in the situation caused Build-A-Bear to take an action similar to President Trump’s own actions to border security, which now countries in western Europe are seeing work successfully for them as well. Despite the wishes of the European Union Austria, Hungary, and Italy have decided that it is time to end the open borders “promotion.”
The idea behind having western European countries have open borders has been one that is pushed by the European Union for a long time now. The only thing that this idea has allowed is for migrants who don’t belong in these countries to put the lives of western Europeans in danger while creating a long line of economic migrants who are trying to force their way into these countries. We have seen a similar situation with the United States and our southern borders.
Due to the danger that President Obama and his administration has placed every American in with their immigration policies President Trump has had to step up and for the betterment and safety of America he has had to say this can not continue any longer. It was the Obama administration’s “catch and release” promotion that has allowed so many MS-13 members to enter our country. It was their “catch-and-release” program that got Kate Steinle killed. These programs prevented Border Patrol from being able to actually do their job and keep illegal immigrants out of the country. Not only were we not arresting these illegal immigrants who have no business being in our country in the first place we were accommodating the children of these criminals for the first three to four months while they were in our country. These policies from the Obama administration have caused nothing but death and chaos for Americans across the country. Just like the Build-A-Bear corporate owners President Trump knew that this couldn’t go on any longer than it already had. He had to make the decision that this will go on no more.
